Jersey Java - Coffee Shop Illustration
Jersey Java & Tea is one of my favorite coffee shops. It is located in a beautiful corner of Haddonfield, NJ, a short walk from the main street. This particular coffee shop has always reminded me of the many scenes in Friends, where the characters meet every day just to hang out and chat. It has a cozy atmosphere with good coffee and homemade baked goods.
As a freelance graphic designer, I often work on projects out of coffee shops and cafes. It’s not a necessity, I just really love the atmosphere, the music, and the close proximity to caffeine.
Since the start of the pandemic in early 2020, I have been working remotely solely from home.
I can’t really complain as I have been fortunate to stay healthy and I have made myself a pretty dreamy office space, but I often think about my favorite coffee shops. Making a K-cup coffee, turning on a coffee shop playlist, lighting a cozy candle and working in a room completely alone just isn’t the same. Believe me, I’ve tried all the things to feel like I was actually in this coffee shop. It’s just not the same.
I worked on this digital illustration of Jersey Java & Tea several mornings not only to reminisce about physically being in this coffee shop, but to begin a daily art practice. I hope you enjoy this digital illustration as much as I loved creating it.
